I Hold My Whole Heart Out

I never knew this kind of love

I felt when I knew you

Would come into this world

All I wanted, it came true

I thought I knew what love was

But you taught me so much more

You taught me to sing, play, be free,

Stay centered, and explore

I learned from you the hard way

Having no example of my own

But I learned with you the fun way

And in all ways it was shown

You were the best at everything

And you always tried and played

Your heart loved to sing

Your heart songs were never delayed

In fact they went on for hours

For you loved to sing and be free

Until you went in towers

Or what middle school was to be

You might think that you’re different

Like you’ve lost a part of you

But inside of you that part

Wants to stick to you like glue

All parts that feel bad now

They just want to be accepted

So that you can be whole

So that no part is rejected

Explaining this to you

Is irrelevant right now

But one day I hope you

Know just how wonderful you are

I write this not for nonsense

Or to get my feelings out

I write this as a prayer

And I hold my whole heart out
