Destiny

Oh destiny, I’ve called you fate

Because you do not hesitate

Your truth it does predate

What I called my only fate

I’ve seen you now in swirls like shells

My intuition rings like bells

Guiding me each time I fell

So I would never buy what they sell

Oh destiny, you make me think

That parallel lives do not blink

But every cycle it does link

And repeats every time I slink

Into patterns that I’ve known

Into patterns I’ve outgrown

Until I have new seeds sown

In grass that sits in darkness alone

I wait in this very dark night

Wondering if something might

Give way to some brighter light

But when I look, there is no sight

Destiny makes me wait for thee

Sometimes it feels like misery

For I just want all things to be

Fearless, effortless, easy and free

Instead you do choose to unfold

As though a story is being told

But what is bought but never sold

Is that there is no beginning, middle or end to mold

Into something that seems like a fit

This is beyond all my wit

This life is like an endless pit

In the bottom I do sit

I give up on my wills and ways

To control anything within my days

For destiny it truly craves

To curve it’s own path to my ways

So choices made are both important and not

We make them free of what we sought

For honest deeds are often not

Noticed by all the fraught

So silence is key to everything

Without it we forget our wings

And with them we make destiny sing

No persuasion, lingering

Allowing all the good to come

Grace for most decisions, some

Are mis-takes but not the outcome

When we allow a little fun

Oh destiny, what will be

When we choose to only see

That meaning is within me

And everyone is really free

Our own destiny is our own

But within a world we are grown

So when we plant our seeds to sow

How will we ever, ever know

That humanity will come together

Like a tribe, free from the weather

Heaven-sent and blessed by feather

Shall we rise or are we tethered
